Parents and Community Links

This school believes that good relations with parents and the wider community are essential in creating a supportive and understanding school community. We have a parents' notice board in the playground where children assemble at the beginning of every school day.

Newsletters which contain children's work as well as school news are sent fortnightly. Parents and carers are invited to meet the class teacher at an informal meeting at the beginning of the school year. These are very well attended as are the parent/ teacher consultations, which take place each term. These are an opportunity for parents/carers to meet individually with class teachers to discuss pupil reports and to review children's targets.

Parents also join us for class assemblies, which take place on Fridays at 10.15am. See the school diary for details.

Parents are welcome to visit classrooms and if you're able to spare some time to help, listen to children read, read a story or help in some other way please talk to the class teacher. We would love to see parents more involved in the school.

There are other opportunities during the school year when parents or visitors are invited to join in, or watch activities the children are involved in. Children are always given letters about these occasions and they also appear on the school website.
